Chik-Fil-A Peach Shake

One word… Awesome. I think they only have them until Aug 22nd.

Vasectomy… Ouch.

Nearly, one week ago I entered a dark room with no pants only to get my balls ripped up. Not fun. 3 kids are tough and 4 can only be worse so it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind. The right one hurt like holy hell. Other than the stitches, I feel alright now. I still can’t wear loose boxers or it feels like someone is yanking my balls to the floor but it could be worse. Take my wife’s brother… he got bored the night of his surgery and did what most guys do when they get bored. Huge mistake. He couldn’t walk for weeks… still in pain a month later.

Seasonal Food and Beverage

Posted on December 24, 2008 - Filed Under General

Christmas used to be something I looked forward to if only for Reese Trees. Those are only 2nd to Reese Eggs at Easter. Last year I partook of the seasonal brews from Samuel Adams… the cranberry sucked but the rest were great. I’ve been known to enjoy and look forward to the Gingerbread Latte at Starbucks but this year they changed it to Gingersnaps Latte… it’s not even close to being as good. The ginger “candy” they put on top is disgusting at the end of your drink. I’m always on the lookout for something new and even tried the seasonal teas from Celestial Seasonings this year… none were as good as Sleepytime… I wouldn’t blame you if you tried to take away my man card for that last sentence. Last week I stumbled upon a seasonal Ben & Jerry’s flavor… Pumpkin Cheesecake. It sounded kinda odd but I like pumpkin but it wasn’t worth paying full price for something that might not be that good. Thank you Bi-Lo $2 Ben & Jerry’s sale! I bought it tonight and loved it. Just awesome. I even drink a little eggnog tonight… Hood Cinnamon Eggnog… really good if you like eggnog. Anything else out there I’m missing?

Looks like another boy

I was secretly hoping the new baby was a boy and turns out it is. Time to get rid of our stash of girl clothes.

Cool

I’ll be building this come the weekend:

Racist Jerks 1 Avery 0

Posted on September 22, 2008 - Filed Under General

X wants to quit soccer. He says everyone is mean to him. I can’t blame him and it’s a little much to ask of a 4 year old to do battle with racist jerks. Looks like our soccer season only lasted 3 practices/games this year. I hope he doesn’t give up completely but I wouldn’t blame him if he did. Note to anyone thinking of coaching kids… you should probably actually like kids instead of just liking your own kids. Next year we’re doing Upward. The uniforms look better anyway and the kids actually look like real kids instead of snot nosed brats.

And so it begins

I miss t-ball. We went an entire t-ball season with great coaches and parents. No problems from anyone. We only lasted 2 days of soccer before the “assistant” coach blames X for doing something he didn’t do. It’s bad enough she made up stuff but she even had the audacity to say that he was a poor sport to my face. Not once but twice. To make matters worse she sat him down for pushing when everyone is pushing… only problem is noone else has gotten removed from the game for it yet except him though. You know you’re in trouble when your kid is the only black kid in the soccer league. That’s my fault… I had no intention for my kid to be the Jackie Robinson of Mauldin rec soccer. I guess they have a high entry fee to keep the riff raff out… only problem is I’m what you might call an educated hick. Shucks, they done learned me a thing or two so I got me one of them thar college degrees and one of them thar blue collared jobs. They thought they had all the doors closed but my white trash butt with my rainbow family came strolling in the back. We still have at least 3 weeks of this too. Should be a blast.

Round 2

Posted on September 12, 2008 - Filed Under General

X started at his 2nd 4K school today. This one is only 20 minutes away and the traffic isn’t anywhere near as bad. I’m still not sure what we’re going to do once the new monkey is born but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. He wasn’t really happy about it from what my wife said. Some kid went and talked to him then he was cool. I’m just hoping he doesn’t tell his teacher where she can go again.

Soccer cranks up tonight

Posted on September 8, 2008 - Filed Under General

X starts playing youth soccer tonight and he should have a blast since he loves to run so much. I’m really looking forward to it too. Two nights of practice this week and the games start next week with two per week for the next month. I guess my wife is an official soccer mom now.

Gauntlet Dark Legacy PS2

Posted on September 8, 2008 - Filed Under Games

I played and beat this game years ago. Sadly, I played the whole game by myself though. Lately, X has been playing more and more video games so I gave this game a shot again. It’s simple enough that he’s able to play it which is tough to find… there’s not many games for 4 year old kids. We’ve had a blast so far which has gotten me interested in finding some other coop games. Maybe time to find ToeJam & Earl III Mission to Earth used somewhere :)
