Music 2005
I’ve been thinking over the last few days about the new albums I’ve listened to this year. Compared to last year, I thought this year was pretty lame. For me, last year had new Social Distortion, Iron & Wine, Rilo Kiley, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Green Day, Modest Mouse, and more. All of which got extended playing time in my cd player. I’m sure that I’m even leaving a few albums off that list that I don’t remember right now too. This year… not so much. Here’s a few that I’ve enjoyed in no particular order.
Death Cab for Cutie – Plans
LCD Soundsystem – LCD Soundsystem
New Pornographers – Twin Cinema
Bloc Party – Silent Alarm
And a few that I haven’t listened to enough to decide about:
Wolf Parade – Apologies To The Queen Mary
My Morning Jacket – Z
Devendra Banhart – Cripple Crow
Spoon – Gimme Fiction
Sufjan Stevens – Illinois
The Hold Steady – Separation Sunday
There’s still a bunch of stuff I’m leaving off this list so I’ll make a more definitive post in a few weeks before 2006 begins.
